Best times to surf at Point Leo

One of the hardest things to do when travelling and surfing is knowing what surf conditions are good to surf in at certain locations. One of my favourite beaches is Point Leo in Victoria, Australia, but it has taken me a while to figure out the best surfing conditions in this area.

Point Leo has many different points to surf along. Below is a list of these points with what I believe is the best surfing conditions for each one.

Crunchie Point

Best to surf two hours before high tide and when waves are between 1-2 meters in height.

Sometimes

Best to surf just before tide is low and swell is around 1-2 meters. When the tide starts coming in the waves begin to get choppy.

Life Saving Club

Usually no waves at all or very choppy and dumping waves.

TIPS: Point Leo is mostly made up of reefs and rocks so make sure to wear protective clothing and shoes to prevent injuries.
